My 9 and 6-year-old daughters have been learning English from Sonia for about 3 years and I am very happy with it. During COVID-19 pandemic, they learnt English from Sonia online from Japan. I joined Sonia Ma’am’s class when I was in 4th grade. I am Japanese and I lived in India for 3 years. I wasn’t able to speak in English before but now I can speak fluently. Initially, I started online but after Corona cooled down, I went to her house and took the English class. It was very fun offline. She made some snacks for me every time I went to her house and sometimes, she took me on a house tour. My younger brother also started the English class. He also enjoys the lessons. Although I am back in Japan now, my brother and I continue the class online. This class helps me not to forget the Language. Sonia ma’am is very kind and her class is very nice. Nowadays, we read books together, speak about our lives and write stories.
The time with Ms. Sonia’s classes has always been fantastic. Many reasons make her class special, but the biggest reason that I have been attending her classes for a year without hesitating is because it’s focused on learning practical things. Unlike when I was in my country, which had always taught theoretical and formal grammar, I was able to learn things that I could use right after that day during conversations with my friends in school such as past progressive tense, passive and active voice, and different types of conditions. Her classes have always solved the biggest questions in my head. Right now, if there are some questions about English, I write them down and say to myself, “Let me write it in my notes and ask Ms. Sonia this weekend.” For me, her classes have always been the simplest and perfect way to spend 2 hours useful and fastest.
I had Ms. Sonia’s English class this summer vacation with my brother online. I enjoyed reading the stories in English. I want to see Ms. Sonia again!
